Draft Pool Filtering
There are several different ways to filter draft pools in the Draft Dominator, but these break down into two basic groups - A). filtering the draft pool for the entire fantasy league or B). filtering the draft pool to reflect the draft tendencies/biases of an individual fantasy owner in your league.
Using Draft Pool Filters to setup an NFC or AFC only draft or to exclude specific teams/divisions
If you play in a fantasy league where sections of the NFL are barred to all fantasy owners in your league or division, then you'll want to represent this by filtering the draft pool for the entire league. For the purposes of this Guide we'll consider two situations (although there could be many more) - a league where you only draft from one NFL conference, and a league where no Cleveland Browns are allowed to be drafted.
In the case of a league that forces owners to only pick from one or the other NFL conference, the Draft Dominator can simulate this NFC- or AFC-only draft using Player Pool Filters. Go to the Gear button in the middle of the dark blue bar at the top of the Draft Dominator's page, and then select Player Pool Filters. See the graphic below:
Toggle on Exclude All NFC to limit the available player pool to AFC only players, or vice versa, and then hit the green Done button at lower right. The Draft Dominator will then recalculate the player values and pool and present you with a new draft list as appropriate.
In the case of a fantasy league that refuses to allow anyone to roster Cleveland Browns, you would still go to the Gear button, and then select Player Pool Filters. Scroll down until you see the switch next to the Cleveland Browns, toggle it on, and then hit the green Done button at lower right. The Draft Dominator will then recalculate the player values and pool and present you with a new draft list as appropriate.
Adjusting Draft Pool Filters for Individual Owner Tendencies
If you play in a fantasy league with an owner who has a bias for a particular fantasy position, or a strong love for a particular NFL player, these tendencies (and many more) can be edited into that particular owner's fantasy team via the Rankings Profile Settings, which are found by hitting the Wrench button next to the search box in the middle player column on the Draft Dominator. See the graphic below:
Select the owner in question and then hit the green Create New Profile button, which pops up a box entitled New Rankings Profile - write in a name (i.e. Fournette!) and then hit the blue OK button. For example, if Player 1 is convinced that Leonard Fournette is going to have an All-Pro type season in Jacksonville during 2017, you can move Fournette up in the rankings for that particular owner under Edit Players. A pop-up box entitled Edit Players will appear - scroll down to Fournette and click on his name to select Fournette for adjusting. Then grab the sliders that appear and pull to the left to raise the projected fantasy points until you think he's moved up the running back rankings enough (for this illustration, I moved his projected fantasy points to 225 and his upside to 249, which landed Fournette on the fourth spot of the running backboard for Team 1, just below the "Big Three" of David Johnson, Ezekiel Elliott, and LeVeon Bell).
To simulate a fantasy owner who believes in drafting only running backs early in the draft, you can use the same Rankings Profile Settings - select the owner in question and then hit the green Create New Profile button, which pops up a box entitled New Rankings Profile - write in a name (i.e. RB Crazy) and then hit the blue OK button. Then select Position Adjustments from the Rankings Profile Settings menu - a pop-up box will open with sliders for each position - just move the RB slider all the way to the right to simulate a fantasy owner who will grab running backs early and often in any given fantasy draft.
Individual owners can be edited for any of the following tendency categories - Projection Optimism; Strategy (VBD, Positional Need, Next Pick Dropoffs), Edit Players, Projections Used, Position Adjustments, Weekly Weights. There are question mark buttons in the app to explain how adjusting the Projection Optimism or Strategy Sliders will impact how the app drafts for any individual owner included in the mock draft.
