If you happen to receive a Data Breach Warning in Chrome, please read on.
When you try to log in to Footballguys and get the warning screen below letting you know that the credentials you used on footballguys.com have been found on Chrome's list of compromised logins and passwords.
This usually leads to the question: "Has Footballguys had a data breach?" The answer is no -- we haven't had one. If we had been breached and Google added that data to their list of compromised credentials, a warning would appear every time one of our customers used Chrome to log in to our site.
I imagine you must have seen a message similar to this one in your browser:
That's a handy new feature Google has added to Chrome. The browser now checks the logins and passwords you have stored in Chrome against a list of login credentials that it knows to be compromised.
Google assembles exposed login data from 30+ major breaches to create their list. You can see a list of those breaches by clicking the "View data breaches we check" link on this page:
